My Story

I have always been interested in astrology, in 2023 I discovered the magic of working with moon cycles. I started following astrologers on Instagram, Kirsty Gallagher's Lunar Living movement played a huge part in this. Listening to daily updates, journalling how this information related to my world.

I was going through huge shifts in my life and looking for a deeper connection not only to myself but to the World around me. At the time I had left my job working with children and had started my own business domestic cleaning. I loved working in schools and it was something that felt so natural but the establishment & life in general had crept in & left me feeling slightly broken! I knew I needed to focus on myself. My energy needed to be rejuvenated and i needed to move more gently through life for a while.

In giving myself space, I started to understand myself as a part of something bigger, seeing how situations would heighten & then fall away. Noticing times that i felt energised and times when I just wanted quiet. I joined Lunar living for a while and began to actively see the correlation between my feelings and how it coincided with the moon phases! I had noticed for a while that if I went out drinking on around a full moon it would out lead to crazy behaviour! I realised that instead of letting this energy ride through me in undirected (maybe even unhinged!) ways, I could actually utilise it and use it to my benefit!

The more I worked in this way, I started to notice little shifts and changes in my thoughts and in how I was moving through life. Cleaning allowed me time to listen to podcasts and books that were opening me up to new ways of thinking! The beginning of 2024 led me to Julie from Healing Possibilities - a turning point that I could never have anticipated! Opening my world to opportunities I had not seen before.

Working in alignment with the energy that is all around has allowed me to work through, layer by layer, discovering and exploring what is possible in the world and therefore what is possible for me. Previously I had always seen myself as quite seperate to this, its other people do, I love what 'they' do I wish I could do that! I realised that actually I could!

Why Work With Moon Cycles?

Each moon phase gives us different energy to work with. I like to use the light of the moon as a representation of the energy within us. We begin with the New Moon, this is a time of darkness, a great time to create an intention that you want to cultivate and grow. You are planting a seed here and I encourage you to base this on a feeling you would like to bring into your life for example this could be joy, peace, balance or stillness. It is beneath the surface, under the soil waiting to be nurtured enabling it to grow. As we move through the waxing moon phase the light grows as does the focus. Reminding ourselves daily on how we want to feel, aligning our thoughts and actions with our intention. The Full Moon is a point of culmination. A point to celebrate achievments, reflecting on what has started to come together. It is also a point of reflection, a review noting what has come up for you over the past few weeks. Challenges, hurdles you may have come up-against, what have they shown you? As a result of this reflection you will see what is ready to be released, the full moon illuminates what is ready to go now. The waxing phase provides an opportunity to let go. The light fades and we go inwards, assessing the lessons the cycle has shown us and creating an opening, clearing a path to introduce a new intention as the cycle closes down ready to begin again.

Conclusion

Working through this throughout the year, you will notice gradual shifts, change that is happening in increments. Managable change that moves you through layers of yourself opening you up to all the possiblilities and opportunities around you. Remember that the moon rules the water on Earth, it's gravitational pull controlling the tides. As humans our biological make up is around 70% water - would it not be strange that the moon impacts such vast amounts of water as the sea but would not impact the water levels within us? It has long been known that more births occur on a full moon with hospitals structuring staffing as do police as it can cause mental health effects on the mind too, almost like that energy light in the body overspills its just too much!

What happens in 28 Days of Focus

I have found so much benefit in working with moon cycles I wanted to create something that could encourage others to access this too. Here's how it works -

We begin with an online meet up, this is a workshop style so you will be invited to participate with writing ideas but no discussion is required. A brief overview taking you through the upcoming energy, what is happening astrologically. I research many different perspectives from Kirsty Gallagher, Chani Nicholas, Pam Gregory to name a few. You will have an opportunity to participate in a short ritual - often involving bit of wtriting, setting intetnions, candles and crystals. We end with a group meditation bring the community together.

Daily prompts will be sent via the private WhatApp community - encouraging you to begin your day by choosing to invest your focus on what you are cultivating.

Daily Insights - I work to a basic outline but everyday i post an intuitive insight to guide you towards your intention.

Daily Tarot or Oracle - Each cycle I choose a deck to work with. After posting the insight I pull a card asking what it is the group needs to know today, more often than not the card directly backs up the insight re-affirming this path.

Daily Breathwork - Breathwork is the perfect way to bring you to the present moment. It helps to clear your mind and body - preparing you for the day. Included is a weekly breathwork recording for you to follow. I will also schedule 3 weekly zoom calls at 630am so you have an option to do 5 minutes of breathwork with the group. (No camera needed, just listening and following).

A Weekly Meditation- Is posted and pinned to the WhatsApp group. These will be in relation to the moon phase.

On the Full Moon - There is another opportunity to sign in to an online workshop where you are invited to participate in an online ritual for celebration and reflection. Again no participation required.

The online workshops are 20 minutes.

The online breathwork sessions are 5 minutes.

The intention for the programme is to create easily accessible pockets of time for you to invest in connecting to yourself and what you want to create.

The messages will be posted in written form and I will also voice note them as I know for some of us its much easier to absorb the information this way.

Join 28 Days of Focus and experience the magic of the moon for yourself.
