On the 8th February 2025 the first club session commenced.

An idea that came, after supporting a few friends & then clients on a retreat day, into cold water.

I have been regularly using Cold water therapy since October 2023 & have found so much benefit in doing so it was great to be able to share this with others.

However, the Cold Dip Journal Club has exceeded all my expectations & has become so much more!

Here's what happens.......

Anyone can attend! You do not have to be a seasoned cold water swimmer. You will receive 1:1 support all the way & we take it at your pace.

When you arrive you will receive a journal. The club dates are held around moon cycles. I figured that the moon plays a big part where water is concerned so it seemed to make sense they would be guided by this! Your journal contains information about what is happening from an Astrological aspect. There are journal prompts & affirmations & you are encouraged to write anything that comes to mind, how are these energies showing up for you?

Oracle cards are also used to guide your self-study & pages are allocated for you to note key words & thoughts they may bring to the surface.

Working with setting intentions around a New Moon and a Full Moon. This cyclical practice brings focus & awareness to our lives. Encouraging noticing & fully engaging with our lives. In doing so we start to see clearly how our thoughts & actions are constantly creating the world around us.

Before heading to the water there is a short group meditation. Starting to bring attention to the breath & focus inwards helps to calm the body and mind.

Getting in!

Each person is taken to the water individually & is given 1:1 support with breathing techniques and meditative talk, so that the sense of calm control is maintained.

Getting in the water feels different for everyone, so it's important to listen to your body, but generally people are surprised that actually it's not as bad as they anticipate!

This is where the magic happens ✨

Showing us we can take control of how we respond to situations.

How we can choose to tell ourselves a different story of 'I can'!

Building resilience to stress. When we purposely put ourselves in a situation that puts stress on both mind & body, it becomes a practice run for stressful situations in life. As the stress occurs your body knows how to respond with slow steady calming breaths, you become stronger within.

An opportunity really go inwards. I describe it as an isolation tank. You create a space where all you can do is focus on your breath, which clears your mind of all the chatter!

These are just a few of the ways cold water benefits the mind. It is also significantly beneficial to the body! Studies by Susanna Soberg were initially to discover how Cold Water Therapy helps metabolism. It regulates insulin, reduces inflammation & is like a workout for your circulatory system! It also encourages brown fat in the body which helps to regulate body temperature.

If you have been considering trying Cold Water Therapy this is the perfect opportunity. You will be supported and encouraged in a safe space.
